Truck Buckle

I found a cool truck accessory made right here in Georgia that caused me to have one of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments. Joel Peters has developed a belt buckle for your truck, or Truck Buckle. 


A Truck Buckle is a hitch plug for your 2" receiver in the shape of a Western-styled belt buckle. There are a couple of different customizable designs with several front figures including a cross, a star and a deer head. You can find out more about them at www.truckbuckle.com. 

I was at my friend Aaron's house one day and he mentioned seeing a Truckle Buckle on a truck with a big decal saying what it was, and we Googled it standing right there in his driveway. As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have one. The first one that jumped out at me was one with a deer head on it.


So I got in touch with Joel and got one on the way. First let me say that Joel has been a great guy to work with and I hope these Truck Buckles really go far for him. The buckle itself is very well made, and seems like it will last a long time. The detailing is very nice as well. It was simple to install, only requiring a standard pin for your hitch. I use a lock on mine as with all my hitches. Otherwise it would be very easy for it to be stolen from you.


The Truck Buckle is a classy accessory that dresses up your truck or SUV and sets it apart from the crowd. I've owned several hitch plugs in the past, and I would always see them on other peoples' trucks. That's not always a bad thing, but sometimes it's good to be different. Gear Review - Bowtech Insanity CPX

A while back I traded my Hoyt Maxxis for a 2012 Bowtech Insanity CPX. After setting up the new bow with my trusty Spot Hogg sight, QAD rest and Doinker stabilizer, I took it out to a 3D range for a test drive. It didn’t take long to realize that it’s a shooter. My first bow was a Hoyt ViperTec, a 2004 model. I spent countless hours shooting that thing and it served very well as an introductory tool to the wonderful world of archery. From that first bow, I was a Hoyt “fan boy.” To me, Hoyt bows just felt right, and I saw no reason to change. I shot a few other bows, but none of them impressed me enough to leave my beloved Hoyts. Hoyts aren’t the fastest, but I grouped pretty good, and took a few animals and a 3D trophy plaque with a Hoyt in hand. Quail Hunting at Buckeyes Plantation

The weather here in Georgia, and the rest of the country for that matter, has been downright nice this year.  It's been unseasonably warm, and forecasters always predict a miserable summer after such a pleasant winter.  According to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) January 2012 was the fourth warmest January on record in the United States.  In addition, several states have had very little snowfall, and this threatens them with a dry Summer.  Nevertheless, getting out in the outdoors is a lot more pleasant when the temps are this comfortable.  Today I went on my first ever Quail Hunt. Along with my friends Jon Gissendaner and Mark Jeffries, and a friend of Mark's called "Paw Pat," I hunted quail and chukkar at Buckeyes Plantation in Jersey, GA.
