Here We Go!

Just rediscovered my Blogger account and thought I'd get back to blogging.  I don't really know about what yet. It will most likely include a little bit of everything that I'm into these days.  Maybe some funny stuff to pass along, interesting news and headlines or what I ate for lunch.  It will probably be pretty generic until I really figure out what I'm good at writing about.  If you have time to waste, I'm your man.

My newest interest is all the professional networking sites like LinkedIn, BeKnown on Facebook and the like.  Looks like those type of sites are becoming pretty popular with professionals in all industries.  So I set up some profiles there.  I've also created profiles with Monster, CareerBuilder, SimplyHired and VisualCV.  Seems like a good idea to use every avenue you can to promote your skills and open career doors.

Well a little about me: I was born in Mississippi, raised in Wyoming, and I've spent the last 2 years in Georgia near Atlanta.  I work in retail and I'm an assistant manager in a $68 million store.  In my spare time, I like to be outdoors.  Fishing, hunting, hiking, running, it doesn't really matter as long as it's outside.  I also play guitar and a few other instruments and sing as well.  I'm not really a singer but more people want to hear you sing than just stand there and play the guitar for some reason.

    Interesting read, I had a blog that I have not touched in a while myself too and will get out there and see if it has a mobile blogging component on it. God bless you and keep singing and playing!

I had just got out of the truck and started to get my gear together when I heard the bugle of a bull elk on the ridge behind me.  "He's right there!" I whispered to my dad as I hurriedly threw on my pack and grabbed my bow. Gear Review - Bowtech Insanity CPX

A while back I traded my Hoyt Maxxis for a 2012 Bowtech Insanity CPX. After setting up the new bow with my trusty Spot Hogg sight, QAD rest and Doinker stabilizer, I took it out to a 3D range for a test drive. It didn’t take long to realize that it’s a shooter. My first bow was a Hoyt ViperTec, a 2004 model. I spent countless hours shooting that thing and it served very well as an introductory tool to the wonderful world of archery. From that first bow, I was a Hoyt “fan boy.” To me, Hoyt bows just felt right, and I saw no reason to change. I shot a few other bows, but none of them impressed me enough to leave my beloved Hoyts. Hoyts aren’t the fastest, but I grouped pretty good, and took a few animals and a 3D trophy plaque with a Hoyt in hand. Quail Hunting at Buckeyes Plantation

The weather here in Georgia, and the rest of the country for that matter, has been downright nice this year.  It's been unseasonably warm, and forecasters always predict a miserable summer after such a pleasant winter.  According to the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) January 2012 was the fourth warmest January on record in the United States.  In addition, several states have had very little snowfall, and this threatens them with a dry Summer.  Nevertheless, getting out in the outdoors is a lot more pleasant when the temps are this comfortable.  Today I went on my first ever Quail Hunt. Along with my friends Jon Gissendaner and Mark Jeffries, and a friend of Mark's called "Paw Pat," I hunted quail and chukkar at Buckeyes Plantation in Jersey, GA.
